Self DELUSION

Sometimes, we just WANT to believe something so much, we ignore facts and just blindly BELIEVE that which is convenient to our wishes and agenda.

Two people want an EXECUTIVE job being available in a few months. Those in the position to hire the person have agreed that EXPERIENCE is the primary basis for judging the two applicants.

Applicant "A" has NEVER had an executive position, but he has been applying for executive positions for almost two years now. He has interviewed many times for executive positions and he has answered thousands of questions about wanting an executive position.

Applicant "B" successfully functioned in a very small company as the CEO for a couple of years. Then, by all accounts,  Applicant "B" functioned very well in a much larger company also as the CEO for another couple of years.

WHO HAS THE MOST EXPERIENCE?

The Democrats say Applicant "A" has the most experience because he has been running for office for two years. They say Applicant B's experience doesn't count because Alaska is a small state. (?)

Republicans say Applicant "B" has Executive experience, which is factually correct. Republicans say that Palin has been very successful in her executive position especially in the area of energy. Republicans say Obama has no Executive experience which is factually correct.

I understand a Democrat saying he wants to vote for Obama, after all, Obama is a true far left Democrat* I cannot understand the Democrats saying Obama has experience.

** "Far Left" being defined as promoting partial birth abortion, wanting to raise taxes, having no appreciation for capitalism and the contribution to freedom made by free enterprise, business, and large business.

The Last Chapter¹

In the end, there was Earth, and it was with form and beauty. And Man dwelled upon the land of the Earth, and in the meadows, and among the trees. And He said: “Let us build our dwellings in this place of beauty.” And He built cities and covered the Earth with concrete and steel. And the meadows were gone. And Man said: It is good.”

On the second day, Man looked upon the waters of the Earth. And He said: “Let us put our wastes into these waters of the Earth so that they will be washed away.” And Man did. And the waters became polluted and foul. And they smelled. And Man said: It is good.”

On the third day, Man looked upon the forests of the Earth and saw that they were beautiful. And Man said: “Let us cut the wood for our homes and grind the timber for our use.” And he did. And the lands became barren and the trees were gone. And Man said: It is good.”

On the forth day, Man saw that animals were in abundance, and ran in the fields and played in the sun. And Man said: “Let us cage the animals and kill the for our pleasure and sport.” And He did. And there were no more animals on the face of the Earth. And Man said: It is good.”

On the fifth day, Man breathed the air of the Earth. And He said: “Let us dispose our wastes into the air for the winds will blow them away.” And he did. And the air became filled with smoke. And the fumes could not be blown away. The air became heavy with dust and it choked and burned. And Man said: It is good.”

On the sixth day Man saw Himself. And seeing the many languages, tongues, fears, and hates Man said: “Let us build great machines and destroy these...... ‘less they may destroy us.” And Man did. And the Earth became fired with great wars. And Man said: It is good.”

On the seventh day, Man rested from his labors. And the Earth grew still. For Man no longer dwelled upon the Earth. And it is good.

We "Brake for Animals".

We "Slow for Manatees".

We "Save the Seals".

We "Protect the Whales".

We Kill our Unborn Children!

How does a civilized person explain such an extreme example of misplaced priority?

What Illusion in the thought process allows such a mixture of barbaric behavior with denial of reality?

Is this an Illusion of Thought or an Intentional Delusion?
